DOWNWIND RUSH / FIELD NOTES

Privacy and your choices.

How this website handles information. Updated 27 October 2026.

Who operates this website

Downwind Rush is a Swellix project by Matt Lee. For privacy enquiries, use the contact options at swellix.au and identify the Downwind Rush website.

Optional CTC signups

If you use the CTC signup form and give consent, this website stores your email address, the consent wording, the date of consent and whether the signup is active. A withdrawal date is recorded when you withdraw. The website owner can export active signups to share with CTC Surfcraft for the promotions you agreed to receive. Signup does not automatically send promotional emails from this website.

Withdraw or ask about your information

You can mark your signup inactive using the withdraw signup page. This excludes it from subsequent active-list exports; it does not erase the stored record or recall an export already shared. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to raise a concern. For a list already held by CTC, use their email unsubscribe option or contact CTC directly. Consent and withdrawal records may be retained to administer these choices; we do not promise automatic deletion after a fixed period.

Hosting and technical information

Requests to the website pass through hosting infrastructure, which may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and diagnostic logs to deliver and secure the service. Authorised owner access to signup management uses ChatGPT sign-in; that management area is separate from public browsing. Access to exported subscriber data is restricted to the authorised owner in the application.

The embedded game and leaderboard

The homepage embeds the game from play.downwindrush.au. Loading it sends a request from your browser to that service. The website retrieves public leaderboard entries from the game service to display scores. The game operates separately and may handle player names, scores and browser storage through its own features. This website policy does not claim that those features collect no information.

Fonts and external websites

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which involves requests to Google’s servers and the associated technical request information. External links take you to other websites with their own privacy practices. We do not control how those services process information.

Website analytics

We collect aggregate daily page-view and outbound-click counts to understand which pages are useful and how people reach the website. Each count records the page path, referring website hostname (or direct), a broad screen-width category and, for external clicks, the destination hostname. We discard query strings and do not store full referring URLs, names, email addresses, IP addresses, raw browser user-agent strings or persistent visitor identifiers in the analytics database. Counts are combined rather than stored as individual visitor histories.

This analytics feature does not set cookies, use browser storage or fingerprint visitors. It does not identify unique people or track activity inside the embedded game. It respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. The owner can view aggregate reports. Hosting infrastructure still processes technical requests as described above, and the embedded game and owner sign-in may use their own storage or identifiers.

Advertising and cookies

Google AdSense was removed from this website on 27 October 2026. This website no longer loads its advertising script or requests Google display ads. Our aggregate website analytics does not set cookies or share its counts with advertising partners. The embedded game and owner sign-in operate separately as described above.

Changes

We will update this page when the website’s data handling changes. The date above identifies the current published statement.
